Be Your Own Advocate

Know when to say when, and don't be afraid to ask for help!

I work in a I.T. environment and need to be in multiple places at the same times often, and sometimes find myself in awkward positions trying to fix stuff and lifting heavier items than I should be!
So, I in talking with my doctor have had some restrictions applied to my position.

I now wear shorts with a medical recommendation to back it up because I as many with MS can't get too hot!

At first I didn't want to limit myself but I knew I had to do it because if I didn't it would have hurt me in the long run. Now, with my little restrictions that I have applied, my work now is actually more productive because I am now able to do more and I am not afraid to ask for help when needed, and people are more than willing to help!

Keep Hydrated!

Of all the things that I do to help me throughout my day, the one that I know has helped me the most is keeping hydrated!
Hydration is key and not only for us with Multiple Sclerosis! I have had people tell me that I look good and ask me "have I lost weight". Luckily at my work we have free water with Arrowhead and I drink several litres water a day. I have a 64oz BPA free water bottle that I fill at least three times a day, on average probably 5 times a day.
With MS I have to make sure that I do not overheat and keeping hydrated keeps me moving, so remember to drink your water!! And, after all its good for you!

Quick Trial

Just a quick trial from my IPod
I just set-up a new App on it so I can post to my blog from it when I am out & about! This way if I have a quick rant to talk about, I can do it when it's fresh in my head!!
Kind of like a quote I saw in one of my professors office that is true, write drunk - edit sober!

October is Here!

Hello All
Well I can't believe it, but October is here! My Padres got so very close to going to the playoffs!! It was a very good season to watch, even though they had their winning and losing streaks! It's the best they have played in a long time and stayed up top for most of the season!
I am very proud of my Padres! 90 wins and 72 losses, with a .556 winning percentage when the Phillies the best record in both leagues had a .599 wining percentage!
Now, even though we did lose to the Giants, I will be pulling for them in the playoffs. I am loyal to Bruce Bochy!
